Trulia receives listing information from brokers, agents, Multiple Listing Services, and web site vendors all across the United States. We also receive For Sale by Owner listings through our partner site, Zillow. We have over 3.5 million listings on our site and that number is growing each and every day.
As part of our switch to IDX feeds and as an MLS participant, we have made changes to the way listings appear on the site in order to be compliant with MLS rules. When using one of our platforms to search for homes, buyers may see two options to view their search results - Agent listings, and Other listings, like For Sale by Owner listings or Auctions not on the MLS.
When a home is For Sale by Owner, the listing is manually posted to Zillow through the home owner's account. It will then syndicate to the Trulia site. If your home is For Sale by Owner and you are having trouble posting your listing, please visit the Zillow article 'How do I post my home for sale?' which has step-by-step instructions.
If you would like to learn more about editing your For Sale by Owner listing, the Zillow article 'How do I edit my for sale by owner listing?' has more information.
Other listings also include non-MLS auctions, foreclosures, and other properties.
Agent listings are homes listed by real estate agents on a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and do not include homes For Sale by Owner, non-MLS auctions, and foreclosures. You can easily toggle back and forth to find great homes in each group and see great homes from both groups using search filters -- no need to search twice.
